Travel with TD active Holidays on a unique yoga holiday that will allow you to unwind while discovering the beautiful natural surroundings of Portugal’s southern coast. With a year round superb climate, fantastic beaches and dramatic landscapes, the Algarve is the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and reviving yoga holiday. Throughout this guided trip, our vinyasa/hatha practice will be varied and themed per day and all yoga sessions will be open level. Led by a highly qualified yoga teacher from MOONS Yoga, we’ll focus on slow mindful, movement with stronger holds. Variations will be offered to intensify or soften each of the poses. Between yoga sessions we’ll also have free time to take in the highlights of this region. Enjoy walks along the coast, take a surf lesson, or simply bask in the tranquillity of our surroundings.

Day 1: Make your way independantly to our hotel in Sagres, the Algarve. Sagres is a tranquil village which overlooks some of the Algarve’s most dramatic scenery and provides the ideal base for your yoga escape. Evening: This evening enjoy a “Meet & Greet” with our highly qualified yoga teacher from MOONS Yoga Loft. The Meet & Greet will consist of a quick welcome chat so we can get to know our yoga teacher and fellow yogis, followed by a stretch session. We will be taken through a slow and mindful yoga flow, stretching out any tensions we may have. With the help of our expert yoga teacher we will then fully shift into yoga holiday mode with a grounding meditation. This will help us settle in to the new space and prepare us for a beautiful nights rest.
Day 2: Each morning you will have a yoga class with a highly qualified teacher from MOONSyoga Loft. You will starting each day by opening up the body/mind and getting energy flowing from tip to toe; the morning classes will build to a relatively strong flow class, incorporating breath work and mindfulness throughout. Starting softly and working up into a series of slow fluid sequences, each morning class will include lengthening, balancing and strength building poses; a heat building Hatha Vinyasa class. Eventually coming back down onto the ground for a deep releasing stretch and well earned pre-breakfast savasana.

You will be free every afternoon to explore the town of Sagres and its surroundings areas. From independent sightseeing, the beach, shopping and the many cafes and restaurants, you are sure to be kept entertained in this charming seaside village.
Each evening you will have a yoga class with a highly qualified teacher from MOONSyoga Loft. The evening sessions will begin with a warm up, like in the morning, but will focus on a particular section of the body, moving more deeply into it through specifically targeted postures. It will be more like a workshop than a ‘general’ yoga class. For example, the first one might focus on hips and hip openers working towards a climax posture such as pigeon/reclined virasana etc. Another evening workshop could be based on shoulders and arms, working up towards arm balances etc. One could be specific to twists, another to inversions etc. An additional benefit of these evening sessions is the education you take away with you off the mat, going home to your local studio with a better awareness and knowledge of the poses/alignment/benefits. The class will be followed by a cool down sequence with time to release, relax and rest the body leaving you ready to float away and enjoy the remainder of your evening.
