This whitewashed village style complex is every inch the 5 star hotel it claims to be, from its private beach setting in Rhodes right down to its sprawling pool, which takes up a prime position in the middle of its manicured grounds.
The dining scene is second to none too with five restaurants catering to a range of tastes including a spot specialising in gourmet Greek treats.
As for features, when you’re not kicking back in the spa with highlights such as massages facing the ocean, there’s plenty of activities beside swimming. Stretch out on the sand with a beach yoga session or practise your serving skills on the tennis courts – boredom is out of the question at this facility-filled property.
Private pool upgrades
Nestled by winding walkways with an artificial river running through the complex, its beautifully laid out buildings look just as stylish from the outside as they do once you step indoors. Expect a modern décor featuring grey wood furnishings and contemporary interiors. From snug twins overlooking the hotel’s gardens to suites featuring an open-air hot tub – your stay can be as luxurious as you want.
Speaking of luxury, you can always opt for a room featuring your very own private pool for a villa style experience. Family spaces are also available to book and come equipped with two extra beds and homely touches including coffee making facilities.
Five fancy eateries
Offering a choice of two board types – Bed & Breakfast and Half Board, dining onsite is highly recommended. Almante’s international restaurant: This is the hotel’s main eatery, except it looks nothing like the canteen style venues you see in most hotels thanks to its white tablecloths and grand ceiling lighting. Despite its elegant look, it has a casual feel with an American buffet breakfast getting your morning off to a great start and a set menu featuring international flavours during the evening.
Astroscopus: This open-roof setting is a must for romantic evenings under the stars, not to mention it offers unrivalled views of the sea. Tuck into a range of tasty seafood options accompanied by an extensive wine and Champagne list.
Basil: As soon as you walk into this blue and white painted restaurant, you’ll recognise it as the Greek a la carte. Using the finest local ingredients from the tastiest olive oil to the freshest vegetables and fish straight from the Aegean Sea, you’re in for a top-notch dining experience.
Mr Danton: If you’re a lover of Asian fare, then you’re going to adore this Thai-inspired eatery specialising in all things oriental. Taste spice-infused dishes from its al fresco setting with pretty flowerpots dressing its tables.
La Piazza: This low-key café style bar is instantly recognisable with its vibrant yellow chairs, stop by mid-afternoon for a coffee or a cocktail.
Sea Spirit: Right by the pool, take advantage of those mild Greek nights from its open-air seating. Pebble: On hand with its sweet Mojitos and creamy Cappuccinos alongside a whole host of tasty nibbles, it doesn’t get much more convenient than this ocean-facing spot complete with waiter service.
Kohilo: This is your go-to for snacks and fruit juices poolside. *Please note – some venues will incur an extra charge.
First-class facilities
Geared more towards an older clientele with a focus on couples, when you’re not soaking up the Greek sun from your cushioned lounger poolside, there’s plenty of fun to join in on around the complex.
Over on the beach, its watersports galore with tame snorkelling adventures alongside fast-paced banana boat rides. But it’s not all aqua-based activity along the coast, it’s also the spot for yoga and Pilates classes as well as wine tasting sessions. Those looking to improve their kitchen skills or just learn the local way of doing things can also take advantage of Greek cooking lessons.
But no holiday would be complete without a visit to the spa, and this wellness sanctuary screams relaxation with its stone walls and marble floors. Unwind in the indoor swimming pool which comes complete with water jets or enjoy a massage on an open-air bed, before making a beeline for the Turkish baths.
A 5 star setting
Resting on the stunning sands belonging to Lardos Beach sits this premium property inviting guests to experience their very own slice of Greek luxury. That said, breathtaking sea views are yours for the taking. What’s more, with a chapel onsite, there’s no wonder the hotel has become a hotspot for tying the knot.
