Day 3 - Nullarbor Plain - Indian Pacific
Wake in your luxurious cabin to the sunrise beaming over the vast expanse of the Nullarbor Plain. The longest stretch of railway in the world, relax in the Outback Explorer Lounge as the empty blue sky widens and, if you’re lucky, spot a mob of kangaroos leaping through the arid shrubbery. Stopping in Cook, wander through this ghost town where skeletons of farm equipment lie abandoned and houses glare out, vacant and deserted.
Day 4 - Adelaide and Broken Hill - Indian Pacific
Today, you’ll have the best of both worlds: the cosmopolitan city of Adelaide and traditional mining town of Broken Hill. In Adelaide, explore this city with a guided city tour before continuing on to Broken Hill, an outback base. The first Australian city to be included on the National Heritage List, it is also the springboard for creativity with art galleries to discover and the sweeping landscape of the sprawling Kinchega National Park to inspire.
Day 5 - Sydney - Disembark Indian Pacific and Hotel Stay
Watch in awe as your train snakes through the wonderous beauty of the Blue Mountains. Take the off-train excursion to enjoy it up close where you can stare at the Three Sisters and overlook the beautiful Jamison valley filled with luscious eucalyptus trees and stunning views before heading to Sydney. Otherwise bask in your last few hours on board the Indian Pacific as you whizz directly to this energetic city.

Sail away into a dreamlike world as today you’ll cruise through Fiordland National Park, a nature haven where glacier-cut mountains and mirror-smooth lakes ooze serenity. Watch waterfalls cascade down the craggy surfaces, wispy clouds caress mountain peaks and maybe, if you’re lucky, dolphin fins crest glassy water.
Day 10 - Dunedin
Breathe in the crisp, fresh air as you step on decidedly Scottish soil. Even though you may be half a world away and in a different country, the flavour remains the same from the blue Victorian buildings to local bars and pubs to beautiful green parks, it more than lives up to its title as the ‘Edinburgh of the South'.
Day 11 - Lyttelton (Christchurch)
For those who enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, Lyttelton is for you. With beatific views and nature trails snaking over emerald hills, it will steal your heart away. Also on the doorstop of Christchurch, you could travel to this city and watch punts glide along the Avon River or admire the distinctly English flavour in ambiance and architecture for a home away from home.
Day 12 - Picton
A picturesque seaside town in the heart of Marlborough Sounds, Picton will charm you with its buzzy bars and cafés, and artsy galleries. Sit down with friends and share a drink in one of Picton’s waterside eateries, while admiring the views of the palm tree-lined promenade. Then go kayaking in the peaceful waters of the sheltered harbour, before a visit to the floating maritime museum or aquarium.
Day 13 - At Sea
On board you’ll find everything you need to revitalise and refresh your mind, body and soul. From spa treatments at the Lotus Spa and the tranquillity of a top-deck retreat reserved just for adults to the indoor garden with the sound of chirping birds. Relax in the freshwater Hollywood pool with comfortable loungers, modern sculptures and topiaries or soak in the steaming hot tubs.
Day 14 - Tauranga
For foodies, there are few places better than Tauranga for eating out. Head to Somerset Cottage where you could sample true New Zealand cuisine made with locally sourced foods or if you want to escape the concrete jungle, explore the hot saltwater pools on Mount Maunganui. Walking to the top, gaze back down at this tranquil harbour.
Day 15 - Auckland
The largest city in New Zealand, stroll along the harbour by gleaming super yachts or even pop into one of the many bars for a drink. Venture further afield and visit Waiheke Island – a delightful island with its own warm microclimate – perfect for sitting on one of its golden beaches and sampling regional wines in one of its many boutique wineries.
Day 16 - Bay of Islands
This stunningly beautiful bay is one of New Zealand’s most popular destinations and it’s easy to see why. Clear turquoise waters peppered with remote islands that are home to unspoilt beaches and an abundance of wildlife make it the perfect place for water-based activities such as kayaking, diving and sailing.
Day 17 - 18 - At Sea
Experience signature Princess features like the grand Atrium, with its marble floor, stained-glass dome and magnificent floating staircase. Stop by anytime, day or night, to find musicians, jugglers, acrobats, food carvers and a variety of other performers. Sing karaoke with your friends in a private suite, enjoy card games in the Vista Gaming Lounge or indulge in some unparalleled duty-free shopping for glamorous luxury designer brands.
