Train journey behind the Flying Scotsman on the heritage Bluebell Railway
En-route visits to London & Royal Tunbridge Wells
Day 1
From a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to London for some free time to shop or see the sights. From a trip on the London Eye to a spot of retail therapy on Oxford Street or a stroll through Hyde Park, there is plenty to see and do. We also have time to enjoy dinner in the capital (not included) before we check in to our hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 2
Following breakfast at the hotel, we head to Sheffield Park station where we board our train behind the 1923-built locomotive, the Flying Scotsman, for a picturesque steam-hauled round-trip journey on the heritage Bluebell Railway. With a journey time of approximately 100 minutes, we meander through beautiful rural panoramas and picture-postcard villages, immersing ourselves in the bygone era of steam travel in our vintage carriages. After our journey, we head to Royal Tunbridge Wells in rural Kent for some free time. Once a beloved spa town during the Restoration period, it’s still a popular destination due to its beautiful centre, idyllic parks and cosy pubs, all surrounded by the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In the afternoon we board the coach and head for home.
Selected Hotel
We’ll stay at a well-appointed 3 or 4-star hotel. The comfortable rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant.
