Exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Battle of Flowers preparations
After an early dinner on our second evening, we have an exclusive opportunity to go behind the scenes to see the final touches being applied to some of the floats that will feature in the Battle of Flowers Parade. The floats are works of art with designs that are a closely guarded secret, but we can see up close the painstaking detail that goes into each one, chat with the constructors and take photos during our unique evening.
Battle of Flowers Parade
First staged in 1902 in celebration of the Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, Jersey’s Battle of Flowers is one of the largest floral carnivals in Europe and the island’s oldest event. We take our places in the Grandstand to watch the afternoon spectacle as flower-festooned floats parade around the arena accompanied by musicians, dancers and bands, all creating a wonderful carnival atmosphere and a veritable feast for the eyes.
Island Highlights Tour
We take a delightful tour along Jersey’s spectacular coastline. Highlights include St Brelade’s Bay, one of the island’s most popular resort beaches, the rugged north coast overlooking the neighbouring Channel Islands and the famous Corbière lighthouse on the south-west corner of the island. We also visit St Ouen’s Bay with its miles of golden sand and rolling Atlantic waves – a prime spot for surfing, and picturesque Gorey harbour overlooked by Mont Orgueil Castle.

Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels. They may also enjoy an enviable location and/or higher levels of satisfaction on online hotel rating sites and our own customer feedback surveys.
Hotel Rating Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
