The Christmas-card villages and small picturesque resorts with their wooden gabled houses are a haven of peace and tranquillity. We stay in the beautiful Kitzbuhler Alps where you can relax and unwind in-between the festive activities and excursions we have included so you can have a wonderful Christmas to remember. On this very special festive holiday we have an included excursion to the beautiful city of Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and where scenes from The Sound Of Music were filmed. On Christmas Eve we visit Kitzbuhel where you can wander through the picturesque streets and Christmas market - ideal for finding that last minute gift! Our Winter Wonderland excursion takes us through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Tyrol with incredible panoramas and delightful picture-postcard villages. On this holiday we also visit the charming city of Innsbruck - the Tyrolean Capital- with its pretty ’Old Town’, as well as a stop in the medieval walled town of Rattenberg. Following a hearty breakfast on Christmas day, you will need to wrap up warm as we have also included a horse drawn sleigh ride! Listen to the sleigh bells tinkling as you glide through the village and out into the surrounding countryside.

Day to day 8

21st December - Fly to Austria

On arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to our hotel in Kirchberg, where we stay for seven nights on a half board basis. 22nd December - Salzburg Today we have arranged an included excursion to Salzburg. We’ll have plenty of time for sightseeing in this beautiful city. There is also a very good shopping centre - ideal for that last minute gift! We’ll return to our hotel in time for dinner.

23rd December - At Leisure

Today is at leisure. Perhaps take a chairlift or cable car up to the heights, explore the shops, have a drink in one of the cafes and bars or simply relax in the comfortable surroundings of the hotel. Christmas Eve - Kitzbuhel This morning we have a half day excursion to Kitzbuhel. There is a good choice of shops here and a Christmas market - ideal for finding that last minute gift - and afterwards perhaps enjoy a hot chocolate and cake in one of the tea rooms. This afternoon you can again relax and unwind in the comfortable surroundings of our hotel, or perhaps make some more discoveries in our Tyrolean village resort. This evening enjoy a traditional Austrian Christmas dinner and later this evening, you may wish to join the local congregation for the church service.

Christmas Day - Optional Sleigh Ride

Happy Christmas! After a hearty breakfast there will be plenty of time to open your presents. A little later today wrap up wam for an enjoyable optional horse drawn sleigh ride. This evening in the hotel we have our Christmas Day dinner.

Boxing Day - Winter Wonderland Tour

Weather permitting, today’s fantastic coach tour takes us past high mountains and through snow covered valleys. We’ll enjoy incredible panoramas and see delightful picture-postcard villages with their chalet-style cottages – Christmas time Austria at its very best. We’ll also visit Zell am See and Mittersill on a day filled with breath-taking scenery.

27th December - Innsbruck

Not to be missed is our excursion to Innsbruck - the Tyrolean Capital. We’ll have a guided walking tour around the trafficfree ‘Old Town’, with its beautiful ornate buildings and the unique Golden Roof. Afterwards there will be time to explore the Christmas markets, browse in the shops along the Maria Theresian Strasse or relax in a friendly café before we return to the hotel with time to relax before our farewell dinner.

28th December - Fly Home

Today we leave our hotel at the appropriate time for the transfer to the airport and the return flight back to the UK.
