Day 1 - Fly to Croatia
On arrival at Dubrovnik airport you will be met and transferred to our hotel where we stay for seven nights with dinner and breakfast included every day.
Â
Days 2 to 7
During our stay we have arranged a programme of four fabulous full day excursions, all taken at a leisurely pace. There are also two days at leisure when you can relax in the comfortable surroundings of our hotel or explore our resort and nearby attractions.
Guided walking tour of Dubrovnik - Included
We meet up with our guide in the morning and set off on a guided walk of Dubrovnik’s old town. From the moment you pass through the city walls you
will be surrounded by history in one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe, which is
a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. The old
town is crammed within medieval fortifications, and during our pleasant walk around the labyrinth of narrow stone streets you will see famous sights such as St Blaise’s Church, the Onophrian Fountains and the Rectors’ Palace. After the walk, the time is your own to explore under your own steam. Perhaps take a ride on the cable car to the top of Srd Hill, for breathtaking views of the city and beyond. Whatever you decide to do, do take some time out to relax, perhaps with a drink in hand at one of the many bars and restaurants
and watch the world go by.
Elafiti Islands Cruise - Included
There are more than 1,000 islands in the Adriatic Sea which belong to Croatia – but few are more beautiful than the Elaphite Islands. On this full day island-hopping excursion by boat we’ll visit the two largest islands – Lopud and Sipan – with their gardens full of oranges and lemons, lovely seashores and charming villages with old seamen’s houses. Our first port of call is Lopud, which is the second largest island in the archipelago and is car-free. We’ll have free time to wander around the picturesque old harbour and to see the Franciscan monastery. We’ll then sail on to Sipan, which is the largest of the Elaphite Islands. Whilst here we have an included lunch of typical Dalmatian cuisine, which includes fresh seafood and chicken. After lunch take a stroll along the promenade or perhaps take a dip in the Adriatic.
Korcula & Peljesac including Wine Tasting - Included
Known as ‘Little Dubrovnik’, Korcula town on Korkula island is full of historic sites. Visits to the wine-producing area of Peljesac and the walled village of Ston are the other highlights during this delightful full day excursion. Korcula town is perched on a peninsula in the northeast corner of the island. We’ll reach the town after a boat trip across the Adriatic from Orebic. And once you’ve stepped inside the honey-coloured town walls, you’ll find a slice of vintage Croatia that’s
all red-roofed tiles and marble streets. As you wander around you’ll be rewarded with sights
like the ornate St Mark’s Cathedral and the house where locals claim Marco Polo was born. After
our visit we sail back to the mainland and then
our journey takes us through the vineyards of the Peljesac Peninsula and on to the walled village of Ston - where we’ll stop and try some of the local wines before returning to our hotel.
The Konavle Region - Included
This fascinating full day excursion takes us to the Konavle region south of Dubrovnik, which stretches from the coastal town of Cavtat to the Montenegrin border. The landscape is a canvas of arid plateaus, sun-bleached mountains, and fertile valleys famous for its olive oil, fruit and organic farm products. An easy-going day of exploring will take us into Konavle's hinterland and secret places; the ancient Greek settlement of Cavtat and the village of Cilipi, best known for its beautiful, embroidered textiles and traditional folk dancing. We also visit Sokol grad, a fortress in the Danube town of Konavle. The first preserved written mention of the fort is from 1391 and was a fortress of Bosnian nobles which came into the possession of the Republic of Dubrovnik in 1420. Konavle is also a wine-growing area and one of its most famous grape varieties is the Dubrovnik Malvasia. Whilst here we'll take the opportunity to taste some of the excellent white and red wines produced by a small family winery before returning to the hotel in time for dinner.
Day 8 - Fly back to the UK
We return to the airport to catch the flight back home after a fabulous week on Croatia's Dubrovnik Riviera.
