Day 1: Upon arrival in Malaga you will be met by our local representative and transferred by coach to your hotel in Nerja.
Day 2: In the morning, you will be taken on a guided tour of Nerja where you can get your bearings for the week ahead. A stroll along its promenade will include stops at "Balcon de Europa" (Balcony of Europe) aptly named by King Alphons XII, and which offers beautiful Mediterranean views. You will complete your tour by enjoying tapas and drinks in one of the local bars in town (included). The afternoon will be free to spend at your leisure.
Day 3: Today you will visit a delightful hidden valley, El Valle de Lecrín, which is well off the beaten track and feels like it's been frozen in time. This peaceful area is practically untouched by tourism and retains much of its local charm. After a short drive from Lanjarón, you will reach the town of Veluz de Benaudalla, which is located in the heart of the Andalucian countryside. Here you will visit a museum dedicated to the production of olive oil for which this area is famed. You will have the opportunity to taste some of the olive oil before visiting the town of Salobreña. Its beaches and pleasant temperatures make it an ideal all-year-round destination.
Day 4: Today is free to spend at your leisure. Your guide will be on hand to suggest activities based on your interests.
Day 5: Depart for a full day excursion including a city tour of Malaga and a visit to the 'white village' of Frigiliana. Malaga is Andalucia's second biggest city and the birthplace of Pablo Picasso. On the panoramic tour by coach, you'll travel to the top of "Gibralfaro" to have wonderful views over the city and its harbour. Continue to Picasso's museum, which is situated in a beautiful historic palace. You will be free to visit the museum, the cathedral and Picasso's birthplace. Afterwards, continue to Frigiliana which is a beautiful white village, often voted as one of the prettiest in Spain. Here, in a quaint family-run bodega you can taste the special dessert wine which is produced only in Frigiliana, along with other local specialities such as fig bread and sugar-cane honey. After this, we will take a quiet stroll down its narrow, flower-lined streets and spend a while at leisure in the village until it is time to return to the hotel. Please note that Frigiliana is hilly, with cobbled streets, therefore sturdy footwear is strongly advised.
Day 6: Today you will travel to beautiful Granada for a guided city tour. Visit the Generalife Gardens and the UNESCO listed monument complex of La Alhambra (general entrance included). With its magnificent palaces, patios and gardens, it is one of Spain’s most treasured and popular historic sites.
Day 7: You're free to spend at your leisure to relax in your hotel or find some last-minute souvenirs.
Day 8: Return home
