Scenic Isles & Cities of Ireland
As you circumnavigate the ‘Emerald Isle’, and sail to some of Scotland’s most scenic regions, you’ll not only experience the beauty of rugged islands, islets, loughs, lochs and cities, but also learn of fascinating history and a few stories too. From on board Borealis, see the quintessentially Irish vistas of gems such as Lough Swilly, only navigable by smaller ship, Great Blasket Island, Tory Island and Arranmore to name just a few; and in Scotland, cruise Loch Hourn, the Sound of Mull by Duart Castle, and marvel at the rock formations of Dutchman’s Cap and Fingal’s Cave, with its fairytale links to Benandonner and Finn McCool.
Your journey takes you to Cobh, a city famed for its brightly coloured harbour and impressive cathedral, and for its fascinating links to the infamous, ill-fated ocean liner, RMS Titanic. A visit to Belfast is a chance to explore the connection between Titanic and Northern Ireland’s capital – a city entrenched in centuries of maritime history – too. At Cobh, you could join a tour to kiss the famous Blarney Stone, while the remarkable basalt columns of Giant's Causeway – another site with links to Benandonner and Finn McCool – is within reach on tour from Belfast. Meanwhile, charming Galway offers delicious seafood, remarkable medieval history and dramatic west coast scenery for you to experience ashore.

As one of the larger ships in the Fred Olsen fleet, Borealis provides the best of both worlds. With fewer than 1,400 guests, you can enjoy the chance to mingle with fellow travellers while enjoying a more traditional cruising style, with spacious public areas and none of the crowding experienced on larger cruises.
Choose from one of the convenient UK ports and embark on a spellbinding journey throughout the UK, Europe, the Americas or Asia. With a wide variety of destinations to choose from, Borealis cruises offer something to suit all tastes. Explore the glamour-laden French Riviera, discover the natural beauty of Norway, or set off on an epic World Cruise exploring several continents over many months.

Upgrade to All Inclusive Drinks Package is available as a chargeable optional extra and can be added to your booking up to six days prior to your cruise departing.
Travelling to Europe
Rules may have changed since you last travelled to European Union countries as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The following are useful guidelines which will help you prepare for your next adventure. You do require government issued passport to travel.
Names - It is very important that all passenger names are exactly as per your passport although we do not require middle names.
Passport - Your passport must meet two requirements to travel to an EU country and to Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. It must be: Less than 10 years old on the day you return home (please check the "date of issue") and valid for at least 3 months after the day you return home (please check the "expiry date").
Visa - You do not need a visa for short trips to most EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. You’ll be able to stay for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period.
European Travel Information & Authorisation System (ETIAS) - Commencing in late 2023 or 2024, all citizens of the United Kingdom will require a ETIAS electronic form completed prior to their arrival into the EU and Schengen member countries. The cost for this travel authorisation will be €7.00 per person with exceptions for under 18’s and over 70’s. The latest information and further details can be found at www.etias.com.
