Scenic Summertime Norwegian Fjords
Exploring Norway’s spectacular fjords in early summer presents an opportunity to see their scenic landscapes and dramatic natural wonders at their most awe-inspiring. Diverting into Lysefjord, Hardangerfjord, Hjørundfjord – rarely sailed by cruise ships – and Romsdalsfjord will provide views of remarkable rock formations, towering cliffs and mountainous valleys alive with verdant flora. From on board Bolette, you’ll witness the might of waterfalls when they’re at their most powerful; watch Furebergfossen within Maurangerfjord, and the Seven Sisters amongst Geirangerfjord’s impressive, UNESCO-listed landscapes.
You'll have the opportunity to head ashore to discover some of the fjordland’s greatest and most memorable sights and experiences too. Visiting Eidfjord is a chance to tour to Vøringsfossen, another of Norway’s magnificent waterfalls, or even go kayaking on the waters of Hardangerfjord. From Andalsnes, perhaps ride the Rauma Railway, for an up-close look at Romsdalsfjord’s mountainous landscapes; and in Bergen, join a local for a hike to see the city through native eyes and enjoy the view from atop Mount Floyen too.
